About the Image Format Converter
Convert images to PNG, JPEG, or WebP in your browser. It is designed for quick file and network calculations without sending the selected file to an application server.
Choose PNG for lossless graphics and transparency, JPEG for photographic compatibility and smaller lossy files, or WebP for efficient modern web delivery. Converting a transparent image to JPEG replaces transparency with white because JPEG has no alpha channel. JPEG and WebP use the browser encoder at 90% quality; this tool does not upscale the source.
How to use it
- Choose the source file in the workbench.
- Output format can be set to WebP, PNG, JPEG. Then select “Convert image.”
- Inspect the result. Download the new file when available, or copy the text result. Keep the original until you have verified the converted copy.
Practical example
Start with a known input
Choose a transparent PNG logo and select JPEG. The downloaded JPG keeps the original pixel dimensions, uses your quality setting (90% by default), and fills transparent areas with your background color (white by default). Compare edge detail and file size before replacing the original.
